OnePlus 5T has started receiving OxygenOS 4.7.6 as the new software update. Rolling out as an incremental over-the-air (OTA) update, the new version brings assistive lighting for the preloaded Face Unlock feature and includes various performance improvements and fixes, as well as the December Android security patch.
Amongst other changes with the OxygenOS 4.7.6 update, the addition of assistive lighting for the Face Unlock feature is the most significant development. The OnePlus 5T was already taking on some of the competitive Android models with its advanced facial recognition technology. Shenzhen-based OnePlus even lately planned to bring an identical experience to its last year’s OnePlus 5 to rival Apple’s iPhone X that was debuted earlier this year with facial recognition-enabled Face ID.
